Protecting wilderness is the single most effective solution for all the above problems. And that is why the World Wilderness Congress convenes once every few years, to bring the world together for a wilder, cleaner, healthier planet.

In 2020, the 11th World Wilderness Congress (WILD11) will establish a global network of leaders to help:

• Protect 50% of their countries on the way to protecting half the planet
• End the Sixth Mass Extinction
• Save life on Earth

WILD11 will also bring renewed emphasis and energy to the protection of deserts and grasslands (Earth’s most degraded ecosystems) and advance new practical, community-based conservation models.
